Israeli Attacks Prompt Evacuation in East Tehran

(MENAFN) Israeli aircraft launched assaults on heavily populated civilian areas in the eastern part of Tehran on Monday evening, according to local reports.

The strikes came shortly after military instructions were issued urging inhabitants to leave the area.

An Iranian state-run broadcaster confirmed the bombardments had taken place, though it did not provide specifics regarding the intended locations or the number of casualties resulting from the attacks.

Earlier the same day, the Israeli military instructed people living in Tehran’s District 3—an area that also houses state ministries and various foreign diplomatic missions—to evacuate without delay. This warning came ahead of an anticipated series of fresh aerial operations.

“In the coming hours, the IDF (army) will operate in the region to attack military structures of the Iranian regime, as it has done across Tehran in recent days,” the army declared.

“Your presence in this area puts your life in danger,” it cautioned.

This directive marked the first evacuation alert received by Tehran’s population since Friday, when Israel and Iran engaged in their most intense direct confrontation to date, exchanging military strikes.
