ABA Files Federal Lawsuit Against Trump Administration

(MENAFN) On Monday, the American Bar Association (ABA) launched a federal lawsuit in Washington, D.C., aiming to halt what it calls a targeted campaign of intimidation by the Trump administration against leading law firms.

The association’s legal filing stressed, "Never before has there been as urgent a need for the ABA to defend its members, their profession, and the rule of law itself."

With a membership of approximately 400,000, the ABA stands as the largest voluntary organization representing lawyers in the United States.

This lawsuit represents a significant escalation in the growing friction between the ABA and President Donald Trump’s administration, which has previously cut federal funding to the group and sought to diminish its traditional role in vetting federal judicial nominees.

Meanwhile, four prominent law firms have independently sued over the administration’s revocation of their security clearances and the termination of their federal contracts. Three of those cases have resulted in court victories, while one remains unresolved.
