Erdogan Confirms Pushing for Israel, Iran Talks

(MENAFN) Since the outset, Türkiye has firmly promoted that debates over Iran’s atomic program belong at the bargaining table, and it upholds the same view today, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed on Monday.

Addressing the nation after a Cabinet gathering, Erdogan noted that Ankara has been waging vigorous diplomatic initiatives—both through his own outreach and via the foreign minister—to bring a halt to hostilities in the Israel Iran confrontation.

"We have clearly informed our counterparts that Türkiye is ready to do whatever is required of us (on the Iran Israel conflict), including facilitation," the president declared.

Erdogan recounted weekend phone calls with leaders worldwide, during which he spotlighted the menace Israel poses to the entire region—a danger that has, in his words, “reached the point of banditry.”

He underlined that only diplomacy and dialogue can pave the way to solutions.

The Turkish leader asserted that strikes Israel claims are aimed at Iran’s nuclear installations actually serve more covert and far reaching objectives.

“With every act of oppression, every drop of blood shed, and every crime against humanity, Israel is gradually jeopardizing its own existence and the nation's future,” he warned.

Calling Israel’s bloodshed in Gaza and its “reckless” attacks on Lebanon and Syria “making our hearts bleed,” Erdogan also condemned the latest assaults on Türkiye’s neighbor Iran.
