Iran rejects talks with Israel stating it "will show the Zionists no mercy"

(MENAFN) Iran’s top authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, made it clear on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic will persist in retaliating against Israeli offensives and has no intention of entering into negotiations with the state of Israel.

“We must give a strong response to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show the Zionists no mercy,” Khamenei declared in a post on X.

In a related development a day earlier, the US President Donald Trump remarked that American intelligence is fully aware of Khamenei’s location, adding that the leader is secure “for now” but cautioning that “our patience is wearing thin.”

According to reports, the region has been gripped by heightened tension since last Friday, following a series of Israeli air raids targeting various locations across Iran, including military zones and suspected nuclear facilities. These strikes triggered immediate retaliation from Tehran in the form of missile attacks.

As reported, Israeli sources confirmed that at least 24 individuals have lost their lives and hundreds have sustained injuries due to Iran’s counterstrikes. Meanwhile, Iranian officials have claimed that no fewer than 224 people have been killed and over 1,000 injured in the ongoing Israeli bombardment.
