Gaza Bleeds: Starvation, Malnutrition Kill Five More Palestinians
“Five people died of famine and malnutrition over the past 24 hours,” the ministry stated in a brief message on Telegram.
These latest deaths raise the total number of fatalities caused by famine in Gaza to 127 since October 2023, when Israel imposed a tight blockade on the enclave. Among the dead are at least 85 children.
Despite mounting international pressure to halt its military actions, Israel has continued its intensive offensive on Gaza since October 7, 2023. According to health authorities, the campaign has killed over 59,700 Palestinians, the majority being women and children. The sustained assault has devastated infrastructure and severely disrupted access to food and basic necessities.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing both of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also currently facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its military actions in the territory.
