Dalai Lama Appears Frequently in Epstein Documents
A review of the files published on an official Justice Department platform shows that the Dalai Lama is mentioned 157 times across the documents.
One email dated Oct. 21, 2012, shows Epstein telling an associate that he planned to attend an event on an unnamed island that the Dalai Lama was also expected to attend.
Another message, sent to Epstein on May 10, 2015, discusses connections to the Tibetan leader and reads:
"Yes. First step would be to meet Tenzin. His student who runs the Dalai Lama center and is now a Director's Fellow at the Lab and going to start the ‘ethics initiative’ at the Media Lab. We're working on some cool things like a meeting about cognitive machines and man. I think you'll probably like him. He can get us the Dalai Lama,"
In a separate email the following day, Epstein wrote:
"I'm working on the dalai lama for dinner."
So far, the Dalai Lama’s office has not issued any public statement addressing the references contained in the newly released records.
In related remarks recalled in a podcast interview last July, an American journalist and consultant who previously advised Epstein said he had met the Dalai Lama at Epstein’s Manhattan residence. During the exchange, the host asked,
"Did you actually meet the Dalai Lama Epstein's?"
"Yeah, indeed," the journalist replied, noting that Epstein regularly hosted a wide range of prominent figures at the property.
The Dalai Lama, born Tenzin Gyatso and now 90 years old, was also recently announced as a Grammy Award winner for his audiobook Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness The Dalai Lama, according to reports released on Sunday.
